Moti Mahal, a popular tandoori cuisine restaurant celebrated Kebab Festival at its outlets in Delhi. Founded by Kundan Lal Gujral in 1920 in Peshawar then undivided India, Moti Mahal now has a pan India presence under the name Moti Mahal Deluxe Tandoori Trail.
The Kebab Utsav special menu includes original kebab recipes like Juicy Prawns, Vegetable Shahjahani Kebabs, Vegetable Gulati Kebabs, Tandoori Chicken Kebabs, Mutton Gulati Kebabs and Spicy Fish Lahori Tikkas that highlight the culinary journey of Moti Mahal over the last century.
“In a span of seven years we have expanded the company’s holdings from 4 restaurants in Delhi to over 100 company-owned restaurants and franchises – 88 in India and others in the Middle East, Canada, Southeast Asia, China, Europe and the US,” said Manish Gujral.
Moti Mahal Deluxe also has her official cookbook published by Roli Books. The book contains recipes from the famous Moti Mahal, some rare B&W photographs of famous people visiting the restaurant.
“Moti Mahal’s claim to fame, its founder Kundan Lal Gujral, invented Tandoori Chicken and Butter Chicken, two staples of Indian cuisine, for which he has received many awards and accolades such as -IATO- (Indian Association of Tour Operators). In 1991 the world Lifetime Achievement Award for popularizing tandoori cooking,” said Gujral.
