A 15-year-old boy was hacked to death in a hospital in Ludhiana
A group of at least 15 assailants allegedly hacked a 15-year-old boy to death in the emergency ward of the Civil Hospital in Ludhiana on Thursday night.
According to an FIR, the incident took place in the presence of doctors, nurses and patients when the assailants, armed with swords and axes, attacked Savan Kumar from EWS Colony in the district.
Police said two groups of youths in EWS Colony had been at loggerheads for days and there had been minor skirmishes earlier. The incident came to light despite the Ludhiana police setting up a special post on the hospital premises. Police Commissioner Kaustubh Sharma said three policemen were deployed at the hospital but none were present on duty last night. “An investigation has been identified and action will be taken,” he said.
