It’s going to be a beautiful summer: these are the summer blockbusters of 2023

The sun is shining, it’s warm, all you want to do is lay in a tub of ice cream (and eat one) all day long. The sky is blue, everyone is happy: summer is the time to sit in the cinema. The film world does not care about that wonderful weather and continues to come up with great flicks to pull you into that cold cinema. These are the films that should do that this summer.

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 3

We have already written a review of it and the film can already be seen in the cinema, but go see it. Marvel releases a thick superhero film every year just before the summer and this time it is up to the departing Guardians to kick off the film summer. And they do great.

Fast X

We noticed that Vin Diesel was there at the Guardians of the Galaxy premiere (he’s Groot), because we thought he’d be well into the press tour of Fast X, which is coming out very, yes, fast after Guardians . The film will be shown in cinemas from next week. See how Dom Toretto’s ‘family’ fares in this possibly final installment of the popular film franchise.

The Little Mermaid

You must see the film that has unjustly become extremely controversial. Not because of the discussions surrounding it, but because it is one of the most iconic Disney films that appeals to the imagination with its mermaid story. The Little Mermaid hits theaters at the end of May and we’re very excited to see Halle Bailey as Ariel.

Spider Man: Across the Spiderverse

Spider-Man: Into the Spiderverse was great and we have high hopes for this second part. Miles (Shameik Moore) goes on a multidimensional adventure with Gwen (Hailee Steinfeld) and of course they all meet new people and familiar faces. Great animation, we can’t wait. Also in cinemas at the end of this month.

Transformers: Rise of the Beasts

You can’t make an article about summer blockbusters without including the Transformers. In Rise of the Beasts it is of course again between the Autobots and the Decepticons. And of course Optimus Prime is in it. We expect far too much spectacle. And of course the necessary bad surreptitious advertising, and all that with a 90’s setting, wonderful.

Asteroid City

Asteroid City is a special film that promises to get out of line. A Junior Stargazer/Space Cadet convention in 1955 is shaken by some rather striking events and we get to see exactly what unfolds in this film.

Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny

We barely know anything about this movie, but the fact that Harrison Ford is returning in that one iconic role says it all.

Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning, Part One

Tom Cruise is back. We wrote an article about it before: this is just another must see.

Barbie

We have already written a tribute about this film: this social media darling with Margot Robbie in the role of Barbie promises to be a true, and very pink, party.

Oppenheimer

J. Robert Oppenheimer works with a team of scientists during World War II’s Manhattan Project. Everything is on edge, how are you going to invent the atomic bomb in those circumstances?

They Cloned Tyrone

In this mystery, John Boyega, Teyonah Parris and Jamie Foxx form a trio that stumbles upon a creepy and probably very fascinating trail in the search for what exactly is happening in the government.

Laura Jenny

When she’s not tapping, she’s traveling around the wonderful world of entertainment or some cool place in the real world. Mario is the man of her life,…
